iPhone 8 Could Come With a Dual Camera Module

Apple and LG could be working together to develop a dual-camera module with 3D capabilities for the iPhone 8.

Apple is allegedly working with LG to build a dual camera module with 3D photography effects to use on its iPhone next year, which will come on the tenth anniversary of Apple’s popular Smartphone according to a report that arrived recently from Korea. The camera module we mentioned would be completely different from what Apple has introduced in its iPhone 7 Plus.

Apple is now studying how to apply its 3D camera technology into LG Innotek’s smartphone camera. Since LG Innotek also has its own 3D camera and related technologies, such joint efforts will likely to bear fruit sometime within next year,” a source close to the matter said.

In addition, Apple acquired an Israeli company called LinX in April 2015, an important company in the 3D technology area. Its technology has the ability to add more depth to the photos and to divide the digital image into three different layers. It is believed that the iPhone 2017 will receive a major design change and is rumored to be made of glass, in addition to an OLED display and a fingerprint scanner inside the Touch ID. Some reports suggest that the home button might disappear and that the device might be compatible with the wireless charging mode.
